The Idea
Late 2009 two building business partners Ben and Michael were sitting down on site having lunch, discussing the frustrations clients faced trying to choose what building products to choose. Michael said "There are so many different building products to choose from and unless you have the time to spend days browsing hundreds of different websites, it is just not possible to see them all. What Australia needs is a website with all the available products on it". This was to be the birth of buildingchoice.com.au. After a lot of research it became apparent that there was definitely a huge market in Australia to have one website with the largest range of products possible.
At this point they decided to seek the services of David, who has a background in brick manufacturing and sales and Daniel, who is an IT professional. This is the team behind buildingchoice.com.au.
The Team
Michael - "I have been in the building industry for nearly 20 years. During that time I have gained experience from building different styles of houses using thousands of different products. From this I have discovered that the decisions we make can become a tedious and time consuming process. There had to be easier way to cut down the time to making choices. So we thought we would combine as many products as possible on one website so hence buildingchoice.com.au"
Ben - "I have been building for 15 years, and in that time I have acquired an understanding of how many products are available and how hard it is for clients to make the right choice. I have also had an interest in technology, whether its a good website, latest computer or coolest new phone. With the creation of buildingchoice I have been given the opportunity to use my building product knowledge to build a website that would help customers to make the right choices from seeing the best possible range."
Daniel - "Immediately when being approached to be involved in making this idea a reality, I knew this had great potential and soon found that there was nothing like it currently in Australia. I was keen to be involved from day one and knew my IT experience and background would complement the others in the team in creating a great building product website for everyone."
David - "Having a lot of experience working in manufacturing, it wasn't till I started my own business in Tasmania manufacturing eco-friendly bricks that I found how hard it is to get a new building product into the market place. I see this website as a huge step for some manufactures to get their product known in the market"
The Teams Goal
To create a website that gives our website users the best possible range of products on one easy to use site, with the ability to browse, compare and manage a list of their favourite products, suppliers and trade professionals, all available in their local area.
